About the Role...

We are looking for a full-time Payroll Administrator to collaborate with finance and people team members to support our fast-growing company. This is an opportunity for a candidate who is hands-on and looking to make an impact on processes and procedures. The candidate will bring a knowledge of payroll administration, reporting processes and systems, be detail oriented and a team player.

The Payroll Administrator is responsible to compute a timely and accurate filing of bi-weekly payroll. The Administrator will interface with all departments and all levels of internal management and staff. This position requires the ability to maintain a focus on detail, possess a working knowledge of state and federal wage and hour laws, and be customer service oriented. This position will report to our Controller.

As Payroll Administrator you will…

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for employees in multiple pay groups
  • Ensure accuracy of payroll wages, tax, and benefit withholdings
  • Audit and monitor hourly employee time cards
  • Review, audit and resolve discrepancies prior to payroll submission
  • Establish working relationship with ADP payroll vendor
  • Collaborate with people team to maintain and update employee records
  • Enter and maintain employee information into ADP Workforce Now database for new hires, deductions, personnel changes, direct deposits, and terminations
  • Ensure payroll and tax compliance with state and federal agencies, requirements, and mandates
  • Research and setup new states with required state agencies and as it pertains to state withholding unemployment, sick leave, medical leave, family leave and workers compensation
  • Assist employees with payroll questions and resolve payroll issues timely and accurately
  • Maintain payroll records and reports for bi-weekly, quarterly, and year-end reconciliations
  • Prepare and input journal entries related to payroll
  • Ensure monthly reconciliation of GL accounts pertaining to payroll
  • Develops and implements payroll procedures by recommending improvements or changes when deemed necessary for greater efficiency
  • Other related tasks and projects as required

You bring…

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field is preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of prior related payroll experience
  • Full understanding of payroll processes and compliance including garnishments and taxes
  • Strong knowledge of multistate payroll taxes at Federal, State and Local levels
  • Working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now payroll software
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Ability to review own work for quality and completeness
  • Ability to work well under pressure with strict timelines
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong organization skills
  • Must be a team player with strong interpersonal skills and customer service attitude
  • Flexible and ability to adapt as the Company grows
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive and confidential information
